ThreadSet™ Drill Kit

Your drill, now a rivet-nut setter

ThreadSet is an adapter that turns a cordless drill or impact driver into a rivet-nut setter. The drill chuck grips the slim silver 1/4" hex bit, and a wrench holds the black hex body still.

Step 1

Drill the hole

Drill a hole in the sheet metal where you want the new thread. You work from the front, so you don't need access to the back.

Step 2

Thread the nut on

Thread an M3 rivet nut onto the front of the setting adapter.

Step 3

Set it with the drill

Put the nut in the hole with the brass flange flush on the front. Chuck the slim silver 1/4" hex bit in your drill, hold the black hex body still with a wrench, and run the drill. The nut clamps behind the sheet metal.

Step 4

Bolt it on

Take the adapter off and you have a new M3 thread. Bolt your bracket, panel or accessory straight into it.
