What you get

One adapter, the nuts to match it, one price.

The ThreadSet adapter

The drill-driven setter, with its mandrel and tool body. It runs on the drill you already own, so there is no separate tool to crank.

M3 rivet nuts

M3 rivet nuts sized to match the setter.

M3 only, by design

This kit is sized for M3 rivet nuts and M3 bolts. Check that your bolt reads M3 before you order.

Why drill-driven

The setter that runs on the drill you already own.

Most rivet-nut setters are one more tool to buy, store and crank. ThreadSet is an adapter: it turns the drill in your hand into the setter.

  1. One side is enough

Set the nut from the side you can reach. It collapses behind the panel, so you never need access to the back.

  2. Strong threads in the panel

The collapsed nut leaves strong threads for your bolt to bite into.

  3. Forward to set, reverse to back out

Run the drill to set the nut. Reverse it to back the tool out. Then bolt your part on.

How it works

Four moves. One drill.

Hole in. Nut on. Set. Bolt up.

  1. Drill the hole

Drill a clean hole in the panel, right where you want the thread.

  2. Thread the nut on

Spin an M3 rivet nut onto the adapter's mandrel.

  3. Insert and set

Put the nut in the hole. Hold the tool body with a wrench while the drill runs. The nut collapses behind the panel and leaves strong threads.

  4. Reverse out, bolt on

Reverse the drill to back the tool out of the nut. Then bolt your part on.

Before you order

The important details, explained simply.

Will it work with my drill?

ThreadSet is built to turn the drill you already own into a rivet-nut setter. You need a drill that runs in both forward and reverse, because you reverse it to back the tool out after the nut is set. It has a 1/4" hex shank, so it fits a standard cordless drill chuck or an impact driver.

Do I need a wrench?

Yes. You hold the tool body still with a wrench while the drill runs.

What size is it?

This kit is M3 only. Read the size off the bolt you plan to use, and make sure it says M3.

What can I use it on?

ThreadSet is made for truck beds, trailers, sheet-metal enclosures and panels: anywhere you want a threaded point and cannot reach the back of the metal.

How much is shipping?

Orders ship in 1–2 business days. US delivery takes about 10–12 business days after that, and shipping is free.

What if something is wrong with my order?

Email support@waylandtool.com. If the kit arrives damaged or defective, send photos within 7 days of delivery and we'll replace it or refund you. Used kits and set rivet nuts can't be returned. Full details in our Refund Policy.
